Projects of the research group "Behavioural Genetics and Evolutionary Ecology"

Our study organisms are birds, more specifically shorebirds. Many shorebirds are rather dull looking creatures but they make up for this by having highly diverse mating and parental care behaviours. The individual behaviour can be either genetically fixed or will change with the social environment and we try to understand the constraints under which this variation has evolved.
