Welcome to our alumni community!
You have worked at the institute for at least six months and would like to keep in touch? Then you came to the right site!
Why an alumni association?
The success of our institute is based not only on knowledge gained by current research, but also on excellent work that has been done in the past by former colleagues such as you. Independent of whether you spent just a few months or several years at the institute, or worked at the Martinsried or Seewiesen location – we value your work and would like to keep in touch also after you’ve left the institute. This includes all researchers (doctoral students, postdocs, group leaders, directors, visitors, either under contract, stipend, or third-party funding) and staff members. Likewise, many of our former members still feel a strong link to the institute (and its predecessors) and would like to keep informed about what’s going on after leaving.
For these reasons, and many others, we have founded our Alumni Association. Its aim is to connect the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence and all its former members, to create an active community valuable both to our former and current members.

We are looking forward to hear from you.
You like the big picture?
Then you may also want to join the Max Planck Alumni Association (MPAA), a non-profit organization developing and sustaining a world-wide community of alumni and alumnae of the Max Planck Society.
The association is envisioned as a highly international, modern and active community promoting and supporting innovative thinking, knowledge and experience exchange.
