Open Day

Every two years, the two Max Planck Institutes in Martinsried, the MPI for Biological Intelligence and the MPI for Biochemistry, jointly open their doors and laboratories for the public.
On our Open Days, we invite visitors to take a look behind the scenes of our research institutes. Guided tours through laboratories and service units as well as in lectures provide insights into the research topics and innovations of the institutes. In the MaxLab visitor laboratory, visitors of all ages are able to slip into lab coats themselves. Films in the Science Cinema or a stroll through our exhibition of pictures from the primary school painting competition provide further insights and a different angle to look at research.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at this day! As our employees come from over 50 nations, discussions and many activities are also available in English.
