Projects of the research group "Neural Mechanisms of Natural Behavior"

We are interested in the neuronal basis of alarm calls and how the brain triggers behavior that is attuned to them.
We aim to understand the neuronal mechanisms that underly duet singing of birds.
The neural mechanisms of echolocation in birds are not yet well understood. We would like to change this.
We are investigating the signals that enable bird embryos to receive information about the environment from their parents.
Flocks of birds are generally well organized. We seek to understand which signals the animals use to coordinate their movements.
